I agree thug culture is ruining the fabric of this nation. When the new national heroes are thugs pimps and drug dealers, everyone’s in trouble. But actual pimps drug dealers and thugs don’t advertise, don’t ask to be emulated. Like the gansters of old they try their best to fly under the radar. It’s Madison avenue that’s taken them mainstream.

I call it the doberman effect- if you have ten dobies coming at you- and you KNOW three of them will be great pets but the other seven want to tear you to pieces- and you have a pistol what are you going to do? That’s not the issue my article raises. Nerd vs. Jock is normal. Nerd vs. Race isn’t. A young black man shouldn’t feel ostracized from his race for attending school, making good grades, or wearing a suit & tie.
